Description

Leads the Human Resources function for the company including all policies and procedures, employment regulation compliance, and human capital development to support company goals.

  • Continually reviews and makes recommendations to executive management for improvement of the company’s policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters.
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends, employment legislation and ensures company’s compliance.  Must be the subject matter expert for management in employment regulations
  • Maintains responsibility for company compliance with federal and state legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.
  • Communicates changes in company personnel policies and procedures and ensures proper compliance is followed.
  • Assists management in the annual review, preparation and administration of company wage and salary program.
  • Maintains responsibility for company benefit programs, including annual renewals and reporting.  Works with CFO to improve cost and benefits of programs for the benefit of employees and the company
  • Develops and implements a wide range of company programs, events and activities to foster company culture and employee morale.
  • Partners with executive staff and hiring managers to determine staffing needs.
  • Oversees full cycle recruiting process including new employee onboarding.
  • Assists in developing job descriptions and requirements for staffing positions.
  • Coordinates or conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separation.
  • Consults with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by the CEO or CFO, on personnel matters.
  • Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters.
  • Recommends, evaluates and participates in staff development for the company.
  • Assists with administration, documentation and implementation of all company personnel training programs in support of employee development for the company as necessary.
  • Develops and maintains a human resource system that meets agency personnel information needs.
  • Supervises the staff of the human resource department.
  • Maintains current knowledge of applicable state and federal wage and hour laws in all states that the company has employees.
  • Stays current on payroll systems to achieve alignment with HR benefits and other related systems.
  • Administer payroll processing as well as facilitates management and employee understanding of payroll procedures.
  • Participates on committees and special projects and seeks additional responsibilities.
  • All other duties as assigned.


Requirements

  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS Office, and hands-on experience with an HRIS or HRMS.
  • Experience with Paycom payroll preferred.
  • Self-starter, able to work on projects with little supervision.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding employee issues, pay, and benefits. This is a MUST.
  • Flexible and Adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage last minute demands/changes with a positive attitude.
  • Extremely proactive and resourceful.
  • Extraordinary interpersonal ability and communication skills.
  • Friendly, approachable.  Ability to relate and work with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and apply initiative to solve problems for the best outcome for the organization.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Management or related field.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years relevant experience.
  • Experience in chemical or process manufacturing organizations highly preferred.
  • SPHR or SHRM-SCP Certification preferred.
  • Experience with multiple manufacturing sites (US based) with both hourly and salary staffs on shift work desired.
  • Non-Union, Private Equity backed company experience desired.
