Full-Time | $75,000–$95,000+ Depending on Experience & Certifications

Code Administrators, Inc. (CAI) is seeking an experienced Commercial Building Inspector / Plans Reviewer to join our growing team.
Since 1996, CAI has provided municipal code enforcement, inspections, and plan review services throughout Lancaster and York Counties. We operate as a complete code department for municipalities, supporting projects from permit application through final occupancy.
Unlike many municipalities and consulting firms, our inspectors are supported by a dedicated administrative team that handles scheduling, permit processing, file management, customer communication, and other administrative functions.

Location
This position serves municipalities primarily throughout Lancaster and York Counties.
The role consists of a combination of field inspections with limited regional travel.
Requirements
Position Responsibilities
- Perform commercial building inspections across multiple disciplines
- Conduct commercial and residential plan reviews
- Interpret and apply ICC Codes and Pennsylvania UCC requirements
- Review construction documents for compliance
- Communicate with contractors, architects, engineers, owners, and municipal officials
- Support projects from permit issuance through final occupancy
- Prepare clear and professional inspection and review documentation
- Assist with technical code interpretations and problem solving

No two days are the same.
Qualifications
Required
- Commercial building inspection experience
- Strong knowledge of ICC Codes and Pennsylvania UCC requirements
- Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
Preferred
- ICC Commercial Building Inspector Certification
- ICC Building Plans Examiner Certification
- Pennsylvania UCC Certifications
- Accessibility Certifications
- Multi-discipline inspection certifications
- Commercial plan review experience
Candidates with substantial construction, inspection, or code enforcement experience are encouraged to apply.
