Description
(Junior) Product Manager - Carbon Management (m/f/x)Department: Product Management
Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time
Location: Mannheim
Description
As a (Junior) Product Manager (m/f/x), you will work alongside senior product leaders to drive the development and continuous improvement of our ESG-focused solutions, taking ownership of a defined area within our Carbon Management solution suite - spanning Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF), Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) and Decarbonization.
You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams-including engineering, UI/UX, and compliance experts-to ensure our products meet customer needs and regulatory requirements.
The role is ideal for someone who combines product management experience with carbon methodology expertise and is ready to own complex decisions in a fast-evolving domain.
This position is based in Mannheim, Germany. We embrace a hybrid work model with three in-office days per week, offering a mix of face-to-face collaboration and remote flexibility.
Your Responsibilities
- Take ownership of a defined area within our Carbon Management solution suite and drive the development and continuous improvement of this area from discovery through delivery.
- Translate complex methodological requirements into clear product direction.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams across UI/UX, development, and delivery to bring product features from concept to release.
- Monitor the evolving regulatory landscape and assess its implications for product strategy.
- Gather and prioritize customer feedback and market insights to guide roadmap development.
- Balance methodological rigor, customer usability, technical feasibility, and commercial impact in your product decisions.
Your Experience
- Experience in product management or product ownership - ideally in B2B SaaS, though owning internal tools in a large enterprise, or methodology and tool ownership in a consulting context, is equally relevant.
- Deep domain knowledge in at least one of the following (expertise in both is a strong plus):
- PCF / LCA: working knowledge of life cycle assessment / PCF methodology (ISO 14044/14067), hands-on experience with emission factor databases such as ecoinvent, and ideally familiarity with frameworks like PACT or Catena-X.
- CCF / Corporate Carbon Accounting: solid command of the GHG Protocol, including Scopes 1-3, and ideally exposure to decarbonization topics such as SBTi target setting and supply chain engagement.
- Comfortable with data models, calculation logic, and integration trade-offs - you don't need to code, but you should understand these at a functional level and work with engineers as a peer.
- A data-informed approach to product decisions, drawing on customer feedback, market insights, and regulatory developments.
- A strong cross-functional communicator, able to explain complex domain topics clearly to technical and business stakeholders alike.
- English fluency at C1 level required; German is a strong plus.
