The Role: People & Workplace Manager
As our company continues to grow, we are looking for a People & Workplace Manager to help build and support the systems, culture, and employee experience that allow our team to do their best work.
Reporting directly to the Leadership Team, this role serves as the hub of our employee experience. You will help recruit, onboard, support, develop, and engage our people while ensuring the systems, documentation, training, and compliance requirements behind the scenes are organized and running smoothly.
What Success Looks Like
- New employees experience a seamless onboarding process and are set up for success from day one
- Employee certifications, training records, and compliance documentation are accurate, organized, and current
- BambooHR is fully implemented and utilized as the central employee management platform
- Managers receive support with onboarding, performance conversations, employee development, and workplace concerns
- Safety documentation, site compliance records, and employee certifications are proactively managed in Site Docs
- Site employees arrive prepared with the training, documentation, and certifications required for project mobilization
- Employee events, recognition programs, and engagement initiatives contribute to a positive workplace culture
- Workplace policies, procedures, and employee communications are clear, professional, and consistently maintained
- Employees feel supported, valued, and connected to the company
- Leadership has access to accurate workforce data and reporting to support decision-making
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Human Resources, Workplace Safety, Operations Administration, Employee Relations, or a related field
- Strong organizational and document management skills
- Experience coordinating recruitment, onboarding, and employee development programs
- Experience implementing or managing HR software platforms (BambooHR experience is considered an asset)
- Knowledge of Manitoba Employment Standards, Workplace Safety & Health requirements, and HR best practices
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information professionally
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong project management and follow-through abilities
- Experience within manufacturing, construction, trades, or industrial environments is considered an asset
- A CPHR designation is preferred; however, applicants who are actively working toward obtaining their designation will also be considered.
Please note: This position is based at our Head Office in Kleefeld, MB, with a required schedule of three days per week in Kleefeld and two days per week in our Winnipeg office.
